Nah I don't think kassian is that interesting and worth keeping long term.

Fair enough. For the Oil its about making the money work, so going to be a tough deadline to get a player at even half of Hall's cap hit like here. Would probably depend on what current Buff brass thinks of Kassian and Samorukov (who was a top 4 dman on the best KHL team this season). I guess Kahun is a bit suspect to send with Buff letting him go last offseason, perhaps Benson is the more intriguing option.

But I agree, Sabres might get a pretty great prospect elsewhere, with not much cap coming back. Oil can't do that.

I think Sabres accept. It would make more sense for us to get a forward prospect like Benson instead of Sam and you can keep the 2nd and make it a 3rd or something

I think that was based off of one of mine. The premise was basically if Edmonton deals for Taylor Hall, it needs to be money in, money out, Buffalo will need to take back salary to make it work because of Edmonton's cap situation, and if they are dealing with the Oilers for Hall, then for sure I think Kassian may need to be include....BUT, to take three years of Kassian back may cost Edmonton slightly more than Kahun and Samorukhov. I think it's close, like maybe an additional second in 2023 or a "conditional" first
