if you think trading Drouin will make this team better.... it wont. plus preds would want futures and young elite talent for forsberg. not a player the same age.
DROUIN
GP - 32
Goals - 2
P1 A - 11
P2 A - 8
(Fairly even on primary and secondary assists)
EV Goals - 2
EV P1 A - 8
EV P2 A - 7
EV Pts - 17
(not much help EV that can't be replaced with Forsberg and Forsberg brings goal scoring to the table).
PP Goals -0
PP P1 A - 3
PP P2 A - 1
PP Pts - 0
(not much help on the PP - Forsberg would be an immediate upgrade)
PK Goals - 0
PK P1 A - 0
PK P2 A - 0
PK Pts - 0
(doesn't play PK)
While getting rid of Drouin for just ANYONE may not make our team better - replacing him with Forsberg would.
FORSBERG
GP - 34
Goals - 11
PP1 A - 8
P2 A - 10
Pts - 29
(immediately an upgrade on Drouin)
EV Goals - 8
EV P1 A -3
EV P2 A - 7
EV Pts - 18
(EV upgrade)
PP Goals - 3
PP P1 A - 5
PP P2 A - 3
PP Pts - 11
(PP automatically becomes better with Forsberg)
PK Goals -0
PK P1 A -0
PK P2 A - 0
PK Pts - 0
(doesn't play PK - nothing gained nothing loss)
Futures are in the 3 draft picks going their way, plus Harris who tore it up at Northeastern. If they need more, I would even throw in Ylonen who seems to be coming into his own in Laval and N.American hockey. We're already set on RW for years so, and while I'd hate to lose him we have others in the system.
Drouin gives the Preds someone locked in already with the term.
Lastly, with the one year remaining on Forsberg's contract - you can let Tatar walk at season's end and you have your top 6 LW set with Toffoli and Forsberg.
