There's two good side to this game... Cole and Wisconsin win the game or Cole is coming to Montreal tomorrow.

I would like to see him go all the way. Better for his development long term. Also, I do not see him in the line up this year but next season. Let him go to Laval and adjust there.

You want what is best for his development and dominating like Suzuki did in the OHL playoffs is ideal but I can still see him getting a shot with the Habs atleast for a few games

Sure that is standard unwritten procedure, give him 1 to 3 games to taste the NHL before sending him to Laval. That happens all the time!

Also depends how he plays though. I’m sure he wants to try to play his way onto the team ASAP

Any athlete worth his salt wants to play with the "big" team ASAP, but that is why a GM/coaches are there to temper those expectations. Zach Hyman wanted to play in the NHL right away, I told him to work on his defensive game or else he would not last. To his credit he did exactly that and now he is a valuable player on the Leafs and will get a bigger contract for next season. I am not implying Caufield cannot play in the NHL just think the AHL will do him some good.

Poehling began the year poorly in Laval but in the last 7 games has been playing with more confidence and consistency. Mete, KK and Suze all should have played a full season in Laval but they played with away because of glaring holes in the Habs roster.

Ya gm & coach need to make the right decision for the team and development. You seem like you watch the AHl a lot who is more likely to come up / is most ready ... Poehling or yllonen ?

Joel Bouchard is a friend. Actually an even better friend is the coach he is playing against, Pascal Vincent. I watch a ton of AHL games because I am a paid scout. To answer your question, personally I would leave both in Laval. Poehling is becoming more consistent, he is more present in his shifts. He still needs work on faceoff's. As for Ylonen, he is a very special player. I really like his game. On the PP he is lethal. He is learning to roll off his hits. But his vision, hockey IQ and passing is superb and he has a great shot. I see both these two on the team for 2022-2023 season.

Another player is Leskinen. I know MTL is loaded with LD's but his passing and puck mouvement is amazing. He reminds me of a young Markov. He will be lethal on PP.

That is great to know. I know Poehling was not progressing the way the fans thought he would but it’s good to see he is coming around. I have heard only good about Leskinen but don’t get to watch him play often. Love to hear all of that

It is very hard to go from the NCAA to the NHL. Some players do it, like Makar (Colorado) but most need 1 to 3 years to adjust to the pro life. The AHL is a great league to learn and grow.

Tough choice. Sucks for Caufield and the team no one likes to lose but accept the thanks cause now he gets a nice signing bonus and gets to go pro and Habs fans get to actually watch him where some sort of Habs jersey
