Can’t see any reason for oilers to really consider that. Nylander would be fun to watch in an oilers jersey must admit but removing 4 significant players from the roster just doesn’t seem worth it. Smith is our starter has played some fantastic hockey for decent stretch’s removing lagesson and larsson instantly softens the blue line creates huge problems. Nuge plays a huge role on both special teams tampering with a lot of chemistry and systems creating holes for two guys don’t really need

Nugent-Hopkins, Larsson, and Smith are all rentals. If Edmonton is smart they move them for assets.

Maybe Avs should just target Smith since he is available according to this.

I'm sure there is sound reasoning why 2 of Toronto's likely cup challengers would do these favors for the Leafs though.

Well, Leafs aren't giving up 4 yrs of control of Nylander for a bunch of rentals. That's all that really needs to be said.

But to get Nugent Hopkins as a rental is a first and a prospect and a player, same with Larsson, add it all up and it’s worth the push or go for it this year. Albeit with no fans in the stands I’m not sure the cup means as much to everyone involved.

In your opinion it's worth it. In the majority of other peoples opinion (including Leafs mgmt) it's certainly not worth it.
