I believe MB when he says he wont be busy. He kind of cornered himself this offseason. He made his big moves adding Allen, Toffoli an Edmundson. There really isn't any space to add anyone else without shedding other players first.

If we have to trade Tatar for a pick to be able to get Hall for example, i dont think the Habs are that much better.

Plus all the players Habs would be willing to trade to get upgrades arent playing well so it makes it that much harder.


I think Glendening from Detroit and maybe a UFA vet RHD like Biega is all MB will do this TDL.

I know MB put himself in a corner in the offseason, but if he found a way to offload Byron or Lekhonen or Kulak, then that would free up some space, I think Montreal needs a 4C and top 4 LD, especially with the injury to Chiarot.

From what I understand Merrill is worth about a 5th.

If you can trade both guys for zero cash back, fine. But then you got to upgrade them enough that its worth it.

Trading isnt easy in a normal year, this year its even harder. Even if Kulak and Lehkonen are good players, the teams taking them generally want to shed salary themselves too.

Glendening on the 4th line and a depth RHD vet makes sense and is realistic based on what MB can do without making a bunch of other trades.
