Mode - plafond salarial: Basique

Description

This is assuming EJ/Frankie are done for the year and Raanta is not seriously hurt.

This trade plugs all of the holes for the Avalanche, as they are in WIN NOW mode.

1. Vet D man / protects in case of injury (Goligoski > Renouf)
2. Solid Back-up Goalie that can be counted on for the rest of the year
3. Additional scoring depth. Only makes the 4 lines scarier. Garland gives options if Saad walks or a scorer is drafted in the expansion draft.
4. It gets Compher's contract off the books for next year, which will be a very tight cap year for the team.

Arizona ticks a lot of boxes:
1. They do not have to retain any money
2. They get back into the 1st round of this years draft
3. They get two solid B prospects (Timmons / Kaut)
4. Two years of cost controlled Compher.
5. They get a decent G prospect.

I like the concept, but rolling the dice on Raanta feels risky.

Also: "5. They get a decent G prospect."

Arizona already gave up on Miska once, I doubt they want him back, especially not after he's posted the 3rd worst sv% in 30 years among goalies with 5+ starts.

Keep goligoski, send Crouse. Crouse is a pain in the ass to play against. I'd like to see him the Avs bottom 6. Trade looks good though, call up Joe tell em what's up.
