Im pretty sure youre getting the Oilers confused with my fantasy team
No... after Barrie, Nurse, RNH, Draisitl and McDavid, the next highest scorer is Yamamoto with 16, then Puljarvi with 13, then Chaisson with 10, Ennis with 9 and Kahun with 9.
Pittsburg, Minnisota, Winnipeg, Boston, Montreal and St. Louis are the teams closest to Edmonton in the standings.
Scorers 6-10 from Pittsburg have 21, 15, 13, 13 and 9
Minny: 15, 15, 13, 12 and 12
Winnipeg: 24, 20, 18, 17 and 16
Boston: 15, 10, 9, 9, 7 (ok, Boston also has bad depth, but they are an elite defensive team so it doesn't really matter)
Montreal: 19, 16, 15, 15, 14
St. Louis: 16, 13, 12, 12, 11
Also, the other 2 closest Canadian teams.
Toronto: 21, 19, 15, 15, 12
Vancouver: 16, 14, 11, 11, 9
They have bad depth. This is a fact. Toronto has decent depth (not as good as Tampa or Colorado but still good), but they are still a top heavy team overall. When Matthews hit a slump/injury, and Toronto goaltending fell apart, Toronto went from being a very clear best in the North to not very clear at all. Edmonton is too top heavy that we can expect all 5 of their offensive stars to keep up production. I would be suprised if they got 1st in the North.
