Description
I am overly certain that DS stands pat at the TDL. But for fun, what are these guys worth? They loads of playoff experience so maybe some return.

DS will have orders from the owner and from neely to be buyers at the TDL for another chance around krejci, bergy, and tuukka. That being said, i can see kuraly or wagner being moved out.

Avs don't have a need for Halak unless Frankie is injured through the play offs.

Avs absolutely have a need for a backup like Halak. At this stage counting on Francouz to come back and play at a sufficiently high level is a big risk. He's had 2-3 big injuries the last year, including a surgery (or two), and hasn't played a hockey game in 10 months. He shouldn't be relied upon to be anything more than a No.3 goalie, if he even comes back. The Johansson trade seems to be a trade to patch up the No.3 position until the deadline when they can acquire a legit backup.

Disagree. The trade for JoJo seems to me to be a hold until Frankie is back. Avs only need Halak if Frankie isn't and as the Avs don't tell us what's happening........

Avs were rumoured to be interested in Bernier as well when the JJ trade was a announced, but Berniers injury caused a hold up. Don't be surprised if they circle back on Bernier when he's healthy again.

Bernier for sure would have been a better option, covering both bases and I certainly wouldn't be surprised if they did if he's fit and they're still dubious about Frankie. Likewise, under those circumstances Halak might then be of interest. But as I say, that's an if and when. Can't see an interest in Halak any more than they would have gone after JoJo if they'd got Bernier as it stands. All depends on what none of us know about Frankie.

I look at the JJ trade as the team concluding that they lacked a No.3 since neither Werner or Miska looked good, so the JJ trade was to replace the no.3 - probably beyond this season too, rather than the backup position.

Oh yes I agree, but then surely the point of the #3 is to stand in for the #2 if he's injured? That's why Bernier would certainly have been the best option, and I agree he's one to circle back to IF Frankie is out for the playoffs (or even right up to) purely due to experience and knowing the team so well (in addition to his ability). Halak would be of interest then as well under those circumstances but if you've signed JoJo to be the number 3 you've got to give him a shot at things for now. Tbf I didn't think the team did him too many favours against ARZ, and the Kessel goal was just plain atrocious bad luck trying to do the technically right thing when a more experienced goalie might have held the worse position and got away with it. I had to have a little chuckle as well at all the naysaying on my Crouse post as he played well for the 'Yotes. Doesn't necessarily mean I'm right in thinking he'd be a good one to aim at, just amusing.
