Contract is much worse. Myers has 4 more seasons at less money and plays on the right side which is a need for Van. He's been ok in terms of his play. In zone defense isn't his thing.

OEL on the other hand gets paid > $2M more, contract goes till infinite, plays the left side where Van is strong.

I doubt Vancouver would want to trade for OEL. They had their chance back in October and they didn’t go through with it.

if it was a Dvorak to the wild trade - you'd have something to build on, but Kessel isn't going to come to MN and MN won't want him at this point.

do a Dvorak for KHUSNUTDINOV and a 1st type trade and you'd have something brewing the wild would be into.

Valid point , also Kessel as a NMC so he would have to accept the trade.

Chicago passes on both deals. Neither of those players fill a real need or help us long term.
