Post deadline AND off-season as indicated

Description
Bit of a mixed bag here as some of this reflects the post TD of this season AND some reflects some off-season changes for 21-22 (ie - Martinez and JBD). It's also possible that Pinto ends up on the team in 21-21 which would likely mean randomly scratching one of Turris, Bishop or Watson.
Ignore the cap, Tkachuk, Batherson and Zub's new contracts will for sure get us above the floor.
Ottawa also signs Sögaard and Guénette to ELCs this summer to avoid them becoming UFA.
Some of these trades were inspired by trades I've seen from the fans of the teams involved.

Probably a slight overpay to be honest, but I thought it might be nice to reunite Stützle with JJP and see if that WJC magic has any legs at the PRO level. (JJP probably stays in Germany for 21-22.)
Tychonick's last season at UND was quite good, but I don't think he'll get a legit look in Ottawa with Chabot, Sanderson and Kleven (+ Brannstrom, Wolanin...)

Buffalo needs jjp for ourselves, he is a very big part of our new core.

    Lots to unpack here.

I don't think Tierney will be move until after the expansion draft. Need to expose/protect 8 players or 7 forwards... Rielly will get moved and I'm thinking at most a 3rd.

Guddy will probably be moved for less if at all. I think the plan will be to see if JBD is NHL ready. If he's not you're stuck with J.Brown as your 6th D which is no good. Keep Gudbranson unless someone overpays for him.

Dzingel will stay. I think he fits here and can play anywhere in the lineup. The perfect 3rd line would be him with Tierney and C. Brown.

I would love Martinez as a 2nd pairing D! Probably need to overpay but he's a good idea and decent target in the off season.

I imagine Buffalo is in no rush to move prospects let alone for picks and a D who doesn't project to be an NHL defenseman anymore. It would have to be Jareventie + 2nd to get JJP.

All in all, it'll be interesting to see what Ottawa looks like next year. Pinto will play at the deadline.

I really don't see the value for the Leafs there. Definitely not for the first round pick.

You think Tierney and Reilly gets you a first let alone that return? Insanity must be a foot in Kanata.

I'm definitely on board with outbidding for Martinez for a couple years. Would be a great mentor

My dream is that Ottawa can ship Zaitsev + a sweetener (be Logan Brown or a pick) to Seattle.
Dzingel would be a solid addition to Ottawa but he is UFA so it's not like it's Ottawa's choice. And he's 29 so he'll be looking for some term too. And let's not forget how excited and relieved he was to get out of Ottawa in 2019.

To be fair, that's a little nuts. He had a great WJC but it's not like he's killing it in the German league. Dobber has his odds of becoming an NHL regular at less than 50%. I just thought it would be a fun idea to reunite him with Stützle. I might consider a SLIGHTLY better offer but nothing crazy; I mean, I don't even have him in the line up because IF he makes it, it's likely a few years away.

Tierney is an ideal 3rd line pivot and an outstanding penalty killer who lead the league in shorthanded goals last season. Adding him for the playoffs AND all of next season while Ottawa retains half his salary... IMO, that's absolutely worth a late 1st rounder in a weak draft year.

The Tierney trade is actually lifted from @Jleaf who had an ACGM post where Toronto gave a 1st and 3rd for him while Ottawa retained 1/2 his salary. I felt that was high so I changed it to a 1st and a 4th. You're welcome.
