This is a tough one for MTL. Everybody knows Chiarot is injured and could use another D. Gudbranson has size and toughness, but why is he on his 5th NHL team? I saw the -15 but he is on a rebuilding team with many players having bad +/- but then I saw the -105 for his career and I thought ouch! This is a really tough one!

Wings aren't interested in swapping Rasmussen for Brown. Detroit is happy with Rasmussen's development and has no incentive to swap him for something similar. I'd only consider trading him for a good young defenseman at this point or if he was in a package to obtain a much better player.

4 assists in 14 nhl games for Rasmussen. Brown had 8 in 23 last year, but started this season with a minor injury.
I feel like both he and Brown could use a change of scenery. Could be a solid trade for both teams if both pan out.

Yes Rasmussen has only 4 assists in 14 games in the NHL but he has 2 goals and 6 points in 7 games in the AHL and 5 goals and 16 points in 18 games in ICEHL Austria's top league. He has averaged almost a point a game in the ICEHL and the AHL. While Brown had 1 assist in 5 games in the AHL.

Rasmussen doesn't need a change of scenery. He's not being developed to be high point producer. So his 4 points in 14 games is not that important. He's being developed to be a big shut down center and he is doing well at learning a defensive role. This will only progress into his mid 20's. He also learning at becoming a great front net guy on the PP. The past few games where Detroit PP has been producing, despite Rasmussen not collecting an actual point, He's been camped out in front when the puck went in. Not interested in flip flopping Ras for anything but a Defensemen.

Logan Brown had 28 points in 25 AHL games last season. He was over a point per game at Rasmussen's age. But yes lets only look at his slow start due to injury.
If you look at their pNHLe over their careers, Logan Brown has a higher projected point potential in every year except one since they were drafted.
Logan has a higher ceiling but more risk, while Rasmussen has a lower ceiling and less risk.
I don't care too much for Rasmussen, but Brown isn't getting the chance he deserves and requested a trade.

Last week when I looked he was at 5 games and 1 assist the same as now. Is he still injured? Since AA had a 30 goal season and the could only manage 10 goals the following season before being traded I don't see the Wing's putting a lot of stock in what he did last season. Detroit is happy with Rasmussen and they think with the way he has been playing he could make a very good shut down center going against the other teams top line.
