Best move of the off-season IMO. Guy is still a stud. . I'm sure there are plenty of haters tho.

Playing 19 minutes a game for first place team, for just 795,000. Seems like one of the great value players this season.

After seeing what Orpik brought to WSH in his late 30s, I was hoping that a 43 year old Chara could help out on the penalty kill and be a good mentor for Siegenthaler and Fehervary. Instead, Chara's on a 23 point pace. Orpik got that many points once, when he was in his 20s. Chara's been amazing.

He had maybe two games where he looked less than solid. Halfway through the season for a 43 year old, that’s insane. He’s been amazing for us and plays great with Jensen. Love that pair.

The impact that Chara has had on Jensen's game is amazing. Jensen has looked great recently. As far as Chara's play is concerned, I think he's exceeding expectations. I think the Caps were looking at him as more of a rotational piece, and he's been a regular in the lineup so far.

Tremendous pick up both on and off the ice... He has made it possible for Jensen to be comfortable with his instincts and trust his skating ability to make plays he was doubting since coming over from Detroit.... Between signing Chara and bringing in a real Defense assistant in Kevin McCarthy has really gotten the D playing well in all 3 zones.... still some bumps in the road at times, but Chara has been a blessing and given Caps more time to get their next wave of LHD's (Fehervary, Alexeyev, and Nardella) more time to get good minutes in other places this season and keep developing right...
