Calgary definitely declines. It ‘s Stud a 2nd and pile of crap.

Nash...maybe without the retention or the 5ths....maybe. It’s iffy.

May be biased but Flames. I went through all of those players and don't see much quality in any of them.

AND maybe....maybe you don't know the Bruins prospect. Senyshyn 23 years old who was a top 15 pick can be a difference maker in games on offence and is now wearing the A in Providence so leadership skills. He has 9 points in 11 games. Id like to see him work more on his D but he is turning into the player the Bruins drafted him at. You already know Studnicka who will play top 6. Kase also plays top 6 but has problems staying on the ice. Moore would play bottom 6 mins but no big value there. Boston has had a lot of luck drafting in the 2nd round so that is nothing to scuff at. The 3rd round the last 2011-16 years is always a player or two Trocheck, Vesey, Gostisbehere, Matt Murray, Grzelcyk, Parayko, Pesce, Guentzel, Point, Cirelli, Fox,

A 23 year old leader in the minors... you're talking about a regular all-star player who is on the verge of a point per game for his entire career...and I cant even stand Gaudreau, but this is not even close to being close.

I know Boston prospects better than you do.

If another team offered you that pile of crap for Marchy you’d be insulted.

2 cap dumps, a failed prospect, 2 picks outside the top 50, and 1 decent but not great young player. Yup, i’m sure they are wet in the panties just thinking about it.

Studs has top 6 upside
Seny bottom 6
Kase injury prone w/ a $2.6 million QO
Moore depth d-man

^ That's not a great package

A lot of players (almost all) cleared waivers to start the year, doesnt mean those players don't have value.

I'm not buying that. Why trade assets for someone you could have had for free?

Lots of reason, but here the 3 main ones

1. Teams get "x" amount of contract slots and if a team is towards the max they may not want to eat up a spot and save it for the TDL or NCAA FA's

2. Claimed players need to stay on the NHL roster all season or they have to be offered back to their original team

3. Depending on the players cap, if they claim them it's the whole hit. If they clear then teams can try and trade for players and get the other team to retain.

This off-season was also drastically different and team had no chance to see players in pre-season games i.e. couldn't scout. Seny was injured the end of last year and with no pre-season no one was going to claim him or most players that went through waivers to start the year. Unless a player fills a team need or is a no doubt upgrade then most will clear waivers. Tinordi is a perfect example. He's a depth d-man, but post had a need for a big LHD with the injuries they had. If they were healthy they wouldn't have claimed Tinordi

Still. Even if Seny has value, it's minimal at best. He likely won't be protected from expansion, even if he's on a different roster.

So we've gone from no trade value to minimal value and moved the discussion to the expansion draft.....which has absolutely nothing to do with this conversation.

The expansion draft is part of the reason he has "minimal to zero" trade value.

Actually the fact that he likely wouldn't be selected in the expansion draft probably helps his value because teams won't be worried about trading for him then losing him.
