That gets topped by other teams.

Thank you for comment and lack of suggestion as to what you would trade away

Edit: Preds are also looking for a Muzzin esque deal, which was Grundstrom and Durzi with a 1st. Grundstrom and Durzi are roughly in line with Kokkonen and Abruzzese

There's 600 Ekholm to the Leafs suggestions here today, if you wanted some other opinions, pretty easy to click on any of those.

Grundstrom and Durzi were both top 5-10 prospects for the Leafs at that time. Definitely a step above an overager like Abruzzese and our 5th best (probably generous) D prospect.

Those two are dime a dozen.

Also, our 1st should be lower this year, and who knows how they'll be valued this year in general considering the lack of playing time and video teams will have on prospects this year.

Abruzzese is ranked by fans as our 8th best prospect. Sure he's overage, but he's scoring at a 1.5 PPG pace.

Kokkonen is ranked as our 9th best prospect.

Sure, it's no Amirov (3) or Liljegren (4), but the prospects aren't pushovers.

Edit: Abruzzese was slightly less than 1.5x PPG in his first year at Harvard

Also didn't know he wasn't playing this year (maybe injury or pandemic concerns? Unsure).

Could swap Abramov in who's ranked higher on the fan list.

Kind of proved my point for me. Our 8th and 9th ranked prospects, according to fans (certainly not experts, as I've read plenty of articles that has them both outside the top 10) are not beating other teams attempts.

Abruzzese is out for the year with an injury, he elected to have surgery on a nagging issue when COVID affected the start of the season. This also would certainly not help his trade value.

If you want an impact player, you'll have to include at least one impact prospect.

I misspoke, the article was a combination of hundreds of fan votes, mixed with the reviews of the 10 "analysts" at Leafs Nation.

The fan list and the analyst list varied at 8/9 (Abruzzese and Kokkonen) and they were just flipped with Kokkonen being valued higher by analysts as opposed to fan favourite Abruzzese.

I suggested Abramov (6th on the list) and you didn't even name a prospect.

Like are you thinking someone like Robertson should be going back? Liljegren? Sandin? Amirov?

Or are you thinking someone like Joey Anderson or Hallander?

Like Ekholm is a great defenceman. He's having an off year, which lowers his value slightly, but he would be a tremendous asset.

Would you rather move Dermott in the deal over Kokkonen?

You aren't giving feedback or making suggestions, you're just being negative without backing anything up.

Are you just being negative because you think it's stupid that the Leafs want another defenceman? Should we be more focused on forwards?

With the wheels coming loose on Freddy (have not fallen off yet) I really don't know what the Leafs are going to do.

I'd like the Leafs to get Ekholm, but that kicks off a chain reaction that leads to Rielly being dealt before next seaosn IMO (which I would be OK with). It doesn't make much sense to get Ekholm without Dermott in the deal. Turning Dermott into a 7th dman is a pretty big slap in the face, and severely diminishes any trade value he has/had.

IMO Ekholm is worth Dermott + 1st + something small.

The other factor to this, is the fact Granlund would be a solid fit in Leafs top 6. If they are interested in him, Kerfoot has to be part of the deal (for cap reasons) or they deal him separately first, which seems complicated.

Does Kerfoot interest Nashville? I don't know. Would Dermott, Kerfoot, 1st & Abramov/Hallander get Ekholm & Granlund @ 50%. I think it would be in that ballpark.

If Granlund had some success here is he re-signed next year (Rielly would definitely have to go, and they would need to cut costs in net).

IMO, if Freddy was playing alright, and Campbell was healthy and still playing well, the Leafs would have already swung a deal.

But as of today, what's the Leafs biggest need? Because I don't see them being able to swing a deal for a G, a D and a F (which was the original goal IMO). Not with the cap issues, quarantine issues, etc.

Even if the Leafs swung the deal I mentioned, are they happy with that team, or are they still more concerned about what's happening in net?
