Take Jost and Paul out as that part is unnecessary and add Pateryn. Pateryn replaces Gudbranson as a 1 year UFA RD for OTT, OTT retains a little less on Gudbranson. Bellemare, Compher, Kaut, 1st gets retention on Gudbransson and Tierney. Compher/Bellemare helps replace Tierney at C for OTT this year.

Only other need is G; send DET a 3rd for Bernier.

With retention might be do-able (allowing for EJ & Frankie returning at some point).

Kaut took a step back; Ranta leapfrogged him. Jost is barely a 4th liner. Compher is not a C, even tho Sakic had hoped he'd be a 3C. Bellmare is a cap dump. 1st is, well a late 1st hopefully. OTT is sending players to help specifically in the playoffs. This is a win now move.

I don’t think Kaut took a step back he’s been hurt. Jost is more than barely a 4th liner he has been the Avs best penalty killing forward, would you like more offense sure. Imo this is hellova over pay for a 3C and parts you don’t need.

Gudbranson is meh.
Tierney is okay
Paul is pretty good tho, perfect playoff type player

Who knows the Avs are so tight lipped, he took a bad penalty in the one NHL game he played played in Eagles scrimmage on Feb 5th and hasn’t played or done anything since. I just don’t get the Avs process with their forward prospects. Kaut was great at the end of last year but they wanted his full elc, ok. But with some of the injuries this yr it would have been a perfect opportunity to play Bowers instead they have rolled out Dries, Sherwood and Megna. And Kaut’s injury is literally a mystery, I wasn’t thrilled when they picked him I wanted Veleno, but when given a real shot he has played well. 🤷‍♂️
