I see you haven’t watched many sabres games this season... Engvall and kerfoot are playing better than staal and hall. Seems like a very silly trade for Toronto to make sense they wouldn’t be able to meet the required exposure for the expansion draft.

You aren't actually saying you would rather have Engvall and Kerfoot for a cup run are you? As for meeting the exposure requirements that is not very difficult since a lot of teams will be looking to get value out of players they can't protect

I am 100% saying that. Staal is washed. Sure I would take him for a 3rd and Hall looks dreadful. This whole “it’s because it’s the sabres” is bull****. Hall is as much a part of the problem as every other player.., except maybe skinner. Hall hasn’t been very special since his mvp year.

I would certainly take a flyer on him but not at any crazy price.

I think that the return will really depend on "where the player wants to play" Both have ntc/nmc so that limits you creating a bidding war unless you know in advance that the players will go anywhere.
Staal has blocked trades in the past and with 14 day quarantine not sure the Leafs would spend the assists required on this type of trade.
In a normal year i would say Stall,Hall with retention and late pick would have the value of what was posted + the leafs first.
