i dont think the sens move batherson, if anything theyre just as good and we need RWs way more

Lmao you know it's Jake DeBrusk we're talking about right? Drake Batherson is already as good or better (definitely much better this year in any case), and is younger.

Unless you have a top4 LD or top6 LW, DeBrusk to OTT can't work and I don't think Tkachuk/Stutzle/Chabot are available lol

mike Reilly , but yeah i dont think they have straight up 1 for 1 value to give for him, but if the bruins want to get multiple solid pieces it could work. Id go connor brown tbh if you want a more defensive minded RW but thats about as high-end of a roster played as id be comfortable moving

Its not that OTT has to add necessarily, its more that BOS needs pieces that improve the team. And this deal doesnt really accomplish that. I think its more realistic BOS adds on to JDB to get a clear upgrade.

I like DeBrusk don't get me wrong, I just don't think he's that worthwhile an addition for the long term future of the team, especially if he's going to cost a lot to acquire.

Looking forward, I'd probably opt to extend Dzingel in the short term, then draft a guy like Johnson/Beniers/Guenther to round out the top 6 long term.

yeah and i like debrusk but i wouldnt do that. sens have a hole at RD prospects and hes really the only good one we have (although lassi thomson is pretty good aswell i guess, but i question his t4 upside). Would leave a pretty big void for us down the line imo

Upgrade. Beyond Brady T or Chabot there is nothing that is really an upgrade for Boston so you are not a fit as they are off limits.

1 for 1 for Colin White maybe. Doubt it from Boston end. Batherson plus.

Sure, just may not make great trading partners. JDB is gonna be a weird deal to pull off... they may be best off by just holding on to him and seeing if he can play his way through it

yeah for batherson it would be a 1for1 if anything imo, they'll probably both end up being 20-30 goal scorers, we just need right shot RW's more so i doubt the sens would do it

Sens also have Formenton and Greig coming in the future, and either one could easily end up as a 2nd line option. I think Formenton ends up as more of a 3rd liner, but I think Greig has more skill than he has shown to this point.

Also I feel like a broken record, but I really don't think Ottawa will or should trade Nick Paul. I think he's going to continue being that bottom six defensive presence for a long time in Ottawa.

Boston declines but as an Ottawa fan I don't mind. Nick Paul is a 30 points two-way W/C who is an ideal third liner. Based on how much theyd cost, I really am a fan of Paul.
We also can't afford to lose Reilly at this point with so many Q marks on defence.
