Description
Re-allocate Roussell’s cap to the back end where the Canucks have a greater need.

Acquire a centre/winger hybrid like Kerfoot with out losing any roster players

Jake leaves either through trade/Seattle/buyout or whatever

Re-sign Pearson or other middle 6 scorer for 2 year deal that will expire the same time as Horvat/Miller.

Buyout holtby if he’s (likely) not claimed buy Seattle

Demko signs a bridge. Pettersson and hughes sign 6 years stretching out the competitive window

Role three high scoring lines and one checking line. Kerfoot or Gaudette can switch to 3C if they want to load up the top two lines moving up horvat

If Rathbone is not ready (unlikely) use Joulevi in his spot

Well he plays as a top 6 forward, he scores /60 as a top 6 forward, etc. The problem isn't Kerfoot, its your estimation of what a top 6 forward is.

I made the AGM based on Kerfoot being a third liner who can play up the line up of need be. I figured the trade benefits Toronto since they save cap space and Robertson likely fills in Kerfoot’s role in the top 9. Opens up leafs cap space to replace/re-sign Anderson and re-place Thornton, spezza. Etc. In their top 9.

If this trade seems unrealistic, I’d also look at players like JT Compher, Lars Eller, etc. Who have term left and can be utility guys through the line up

hes on pace for a 38 point year (in an 82 game year) he was on pace for just under that last year too while playing predominantly 3C. Those are not top 6 numbers, he is a good 3rd liner that can slot up if needed. He aint a top 6 forward my guy

You seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding of where points are generated. Kerfoot produced about 1.5 points / 60 minutes at even strength, what would be considered a 2nd line rate. The reason he doesn't have what you would consider top 6 points is because he doesn't get much power play time where a large amount of points are generated.

I get that, but he plays 2nd and 3rd line minutes and scores at a rate like a 2nd and 3rd line player, therefore he is a middle-6 forward.
Some other guys that put up similar ev points/60 are Tyler Bozak, Calle Jarkrok and Artturi Lehkonen. Those are all solid middle6 forwards

Were just debating whether its tomatoes or tomatoes at this point. Hes a 2nd liner. You won't find many 2nd liners with term who can fill in on both the PP and PK being traded for 2nd round picks and a cap dump.
