The habs might be fine with this, depending on how the offseason goes. Although ideally we’d keep Kulak if we have the cap space for him.

Brady is overrated, Dahlin is the stud Buffalo needed from that draft, hold on to him.

Why are you sure that McCabe will generally be able to be in the same shape as this season, after such injuries, it is difficult to return to your level. Our defense looks very dubious. Jonas Johansson has yet to prove in any way that he can be a good goaie in the NHL. Ottawa doesn't trade Tkachuk, and Buffalo hopefully won't trade Dahlin.

TB says thank you very much but why wouldn't Buffalo just claim TJ unless Buffalo thinks Thompson is a negative asset?

Gibson can get hurt and sometimes needs rest. Just don’t do a deal with Tampa and don’t take this Johnson contract, it’s quite possible to find a cheaper RW for the third line and find a normal backup.

Sens decline. We don't need another LD we have Chabot, Sanderson, Brannstrom long term on the left side

    How's Kotkaniemi doing? LOL
Brady literally leads the league in individual expected goals for. He isn't close to his full potential.

I hate to admit it but that's actually a Gibson trade I could stomach, although I have a visceral antipathy to trading him for anyone other than Connor McDavid.

That's really well thought out. We haven't always seen eye-to-eye but my kudos to you.

It's a trade neither team does but I'm taking Dahlin over Brady all day. Leads the league in expected goals.....but not actual goals. Hes a good player but Sens fans act like he is going to be a ppg player, which he will likely be for a season maybe 2 but not a career regular. Kotkaniemi is just fine, turning into the big top 6 center the Habs expected

LOL I mean Dahlin was 1st overall so I would hope he is the best player in the draft. Kotkaniemi was picked before Brady tho but everyone would take Brady over him.

You say that but Montreal knew when they picked KK that it would be 3-4 years before he developed. Brady was more NHL ready right out of the draft but he isnt miles ahead of KK and they likely end up being comparable at the end of it all.

More NHL ready? KK was known to be NHL ready he literally 79 games post draft. KK was consistently top 10 on most mock drafts and it was universally known that him at 3rd overall was a bit of a reach, but it made sense to take a risk on an NHL ready centerman. I don't think they will be comparable but KK will defintely improve.

Absolutely no one, including the habs and Kotkaniemi himself thought he would be in the NHL immediately after being drafted. KK was deemed to be raw, while Tkachuk was a year older and much more physically mature. He surprised in training camp and earned a spot against all expectations. But yeah, the habs picked him because they saw a guy who might not be the best player at the moment, but could become a 1C, which was their biggest need at the time.

They obviously don’t need to be compared, since Montréal’s obviously happy they have KK, and I’m sure the Senators are happy they have Tkachuk (especially since they’re in need of a strong, young leader and are overflowing with C prospects).
