You have to give up the compensation for signing Panarin if that's what you think would happen. That signing means the Flyers lose a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round draft pick for 2017. The signings make sense although I'm not sure why Lyon gets 1.2 mil to be in the AHL? Also, not a huge fan of getting Weber when we could just keep developing our guys and bring back MDZ at a similar price. Lastly, doubt CHI lets Panarin walk and if they do they are going to want immediate cheap contributors instead of picks.

Hi Nate, I do realize the flyers would be giving up darft picks, which is likely why they wouldn't sign him, or at the very least make a trade with chi as you suggested. I think Giroux needs someone like that on his left side.
As far as the Weber signing, I just wanted someone who could fill the gap(that was defensively responsible) until the young def. are ready. I really think that Sanhiem and Morin won't be ready by next year. I have a feeling that MDZ will ask for a lot of money and thats why I believe he wont be back. If we can get him for 2.5-3 million then fine.
