I don't like raanta even 1 little bit and their cap room is still a bit limited next year for what they have to do.

I somewhat agree, however I don’t mind trading our first this year if it’s 20-32OA since this draft is weak. That being said I wouldn’t trade it for garbage, or players that wouldn’t take a first rounder to get. For example I would use it to dump Neal if it’s that 20-32OA, but I wouldn’t use it on Kuemper. With one year left it’s not worth it. I rather sign one of Raanta, Reimer, Rinne as a backup.

Why would the coyotes, who already have their starter and backup, trade Raanta for 2 more goalies

I'm not a big fan of Raanta, but signing a UFA goalie just makes so much sense. They could probably use the 1st on Cossa in the draft too - long term win for the organization vs 1 year of Kuemper.

I misread the post and thought they were trading for Raanta. The fact that it’s Keumper makes it worse IMO. A late first rounder and 2 fringe starters is not the return the coyotes are looking for even if they were to entertain the idea of trading him.

What exactly are they looking for. Look at the history of trades in the past 10 years. Only 1 NHL goalie has gotten a 1st round pick. Lehner. So what do you think they are looking for, by than he will be a UFA by the end of the year.

A first and a good prospect. Keumper would have been a Vezina candidate last year if he wasn’t injured, he’s worth whatever the Coyotes ask. And if they don’t trade him there’s nothing to suggest that he doesn’t want to come back. They can resign him until one of our prospects is ready to take over

To me Raanta is a smaller goalie so he has to be much more active in the crease. Im assuming we are rolling with our young core of Defence for next year with no major additions so that is troubling to me. Our defensemen would be getting in his way and it would be super hard for them to learn how to defend and not get in the goalie's way.

We have to make some moves Rinne is 38 Years old he's not a long term option. I have to think Edmonton could resign Kuemper if they paid him his 6 million x 5. He's from saskatchewan so he's not going to mind that much if its cold outside during winter. James reimer is essentially a Koskinen Level goalie.

Nope that’s Raanta. Keumper is usually pretty reliably healthy.

Kuemper played 55 games once, in 2018-19. Other than that, the most he's played in a single season is 31 back in 14-15. That's not a great track record at all.

My thoughts are that Arizona management wants to shed Cap really bad. If you wanted to run minimal $ goaltenders Koskinen and Stalock would be your pairing. Koskinen would do phenomenal if you had a defense like Arizona does is also due for a pay decrease to about 2 Million the following year.

Why do you think that? They have not indicated that at all. They have a ton of cap coming off the books next season and can run a floor team without trading anyone if they want to, but again, no one has said they are shedding cap

Likely because he spent most of his career as a backup until AZ, last year he got hurt bad but other than that he’s only missed a few games here and there
