Vegas doesn’t make that Pittsburgh trade. After the owners comments about Fluery retiring a Knight, and the season he’s having, they won’t retain half AND take money back. They would honestly rather save 500k and re-sign Dansk as backup then take DeSmiths contract back.

I honestly am starting to believe there is a better chance Lehner gets dealt in the offseason then MAF if they decide to move one.

I personally don’t think Martinez gets more money next year at 34 then he’s making now, especially at 4 years. My guess would be 2.5 or so for 2-3 years.

Not only do I think they won’t trade Smith, I think we see a short term extension with him.

I understand if they want a top notch C, they need to move some cap. But it may be a guy like McNabb, Reaves and/or Carrier.

What money are the knights taking back in that deal? Lol. DeSmith is cheap af. The pens couldn’t do this trade if they even wanted to because unfortunately they have to abide by the cap 😫

1.25 for DeSmith is more money then Dansk. And 500k may not sound like a lot, but VGK is still holding that on Tatar and it is killing them this year. If that had that 500k they wouldn’t have had to go 13/5 in the beginning of the season.

So holding 3.5 on Fluery and taking back DeSmith is taking back money. Like I mentioned they would probably prefer to just re-sign Dansk at 700k for one season then DeSmith at 1.25 for 2 seasons.
