If Edler is available, I’m sure Bergevin would love to pair him up with Weber in MTL. I wonder if Edler for Chiarot is doable, and interesting enough for VAN? It requires creativity to fit it in MTL cap situation, but that would be the main component of the deal.

Canucks might be able to trade the players on expiring contracts, but those players with that extend into 21/22 likely can't be traded.

Roussel has had over 20pts once in the last 4 yrs at 3M/yr that's a very very easy no from MTL. They have Armia and Leckie who put up more points and cost less.
Juulsen was just place on LTIR so that trade won't work either.

You're right, but equal (bad) cap would have to come back to the Canucks, which sorta defeats the purpose of trades

Unlikely that the Canucks can move Roussel and Beagle for late-round picks this year, maybe next year. They would have to add prospects to even entice teams to take on their contracts.
