That's wayyyyy too much for Hall. You're going to get him for about 10 regular season games (14 day quarantine), then playoffs. a 1st, 2nd and B+ prospect is a ridiculous price (Plus Kerfoot). Relying on Engvall as your 3C is also a bold strategy that's bound to fail.

Engvall's game has improved over the last couple of weeks, coming from someone who didn't want him in the line-up in the first place.

If his game can keep improving, I'm comfortable with him at 3C. Can also move Spezza up to win faceoffs if it becomes a problem.

I don't know. Making it in the playoffs is all about depth, and I wouldn't pin my hopes on Engvall/Spezza running the bottom 6. Just my opinion.

I can understand your train of thought, Engvall is certainly unproven (both regular season and playoffs). But like I said, his game is improving, and if he keeps playing with Mik and Hyman his game will only get better. All depends on how much the Leafs will have to spend to upgrade the 3C position, may not be worth it. Might as well give it a shot with how the line-up currently looks. If it ain't broken, don't fix it.

Yeah, honestly, I'd just be doing minor additions at this point. Little sprinkle of depth here, a dash of more depth over there...Like, to me, Granlund wouldn't be a bad target, and shouldn't cost much. Maybe, if you're not comfortable with the depth on the back end, you give up a bit to get a guy like Hamonic for the stretch run. Nothing major, just tiny adjustments.

Leafs are playing good hockey. They are having fun. They have a good locker room. The answer to that is not to bring in a cancer.
