I think Pospisil has a Buddy Robinson ceiling, I do like him but the hype around him is because he is a lunatic which is terrific.
Ruzicka looks to be the most NHL ready and I think there is some unfair factors working against Phillips just because of his size, having him come play bottom 6 minutes doesn't help him develop, it gets him dragged into the muck wtih guys like Lucic, Bennett, Robinson etc. If Phillips comes up it should be to score goals not create energy, Ruzicka I could see playing well in the bottom 6 and moving up the line up.

Hey i love it! Please trade your 30 goal scoring Centre at 26 for a fourth line winger Jones Cant Stay Healthy, Manson on the IR...who's play is declining and a 2 tier 40 point winger. And then have all you AHL young players in 4th and 3rd line rolls. Your team will be so weak down the middle. Kiss the playoffs good buy. Your team has 59 goals in 23 games....and 70 against....so yes please trade your best centre away and make your team weaker.

If you took all of Monahan's goals away this year then the Flames have 55... That's not the glaring difference you're making it out to be. He's hit 30 goals in less than half his seasons... he has 4 this year. Lindholm has been a way better C and would be his replacement, Backlund as a 2C is perfect Ryan and Gawdin as 3/4.. That's literally an improvement without getting into the players that are coming back in the post above.

So I ask again, how can you possibly be this lost in this conversation?!

It's an 18 yes 12 no modified no-trade clause, and there's always the threat that he could go to Seattle without any recourse.

But on the Flames he is 2nd Cause there is no one better. Ryan and Gawdin meh....Fringe NHL players. Backlund is better as a 3rd line center, like Danault, and still he's/was the number one centerman for the Habs. This team doesn't work right now, it's not normal to be destroyed by the Sens (right now, lets talk again in a couple of years), Bennett is not a good centerman, Lindholm is the number one center on the team. He needs to play with Johnny. IMO one got to go, Johnny or Monahan, you got to shake the core. If Gaudreau wants to stay, then Gaudreau is the one that we got to keep. Building around him Lindholm and Chucky. (at forward)

Zary's gonna be a great replacement for Backlund sooner than later. Ryan is a solid fourth line center, but is contract is way too much.

Rakell would be a great add, right handed shot, things that we don't have. With Gaudreau feeding him the puck he would go back to 30 goals a year. Plus the things that we need the most, is a right handed d-man. Manson would be a great fit. Max Jones can't do worst than Bennett is right now.

That could be your worst attempt at this whole argument so far... I’m not sure if you’re just trying to be funny or your a 12 year old who doesn’t quite get it yet.

He better be a 3rd line C on the leafs if they’re spending 20 million on two centres... that’s a given and if the Flames were to roll Lindholm and Monahan down the middle Backlund is a 3 when Monahan is clicking.

If the divisions were normal right now the Flames would be tied for 3rd with the Kings, did you even check that before you said it or you just threw it out there without any thought? Flames are built better for the Pacific than the North, big hockey that doesn’t require a ton of speed.
