Description
Some may say: “It’s too early to hit the panic button” my response is well when is it then too late. Because for a “contending team” the Avalanche are below expectations. THEY JUST LOST 6-2 TO THE SHARKS, 6 UNANSWERED.

Also we really need Johnson back and Franky would be helpful too.
I think some minimal moves like these could help.

No he is not. Come on duck. You’re letting your emotions of frustration make things sound a 100 times that they are

Last night sucked but you are acting like the avs have been bad all season and that’s not even close to being true

Are the blues freaking out that they lost the season series to the coyotes? Yeah the coyotes beat up on the blues. This will happen in a division that you only play each other, no team is sweeping one another 7-8 games

You think Pateryn is better than Byram? Is that some sort of joke?

Don't see the value for Ottawa. If Ottawa wanted to trade him, it would be to free up a roster spot and to add some valuable assets. This doesn't really accomplish either. Rather just keep Tierney

All I was saying was Byram is currently have growing pains and Patteryn is not, he is established. And I think having an established blue liner helps the Avalanche more right now

The part about the Avalanche that has frustrated me has been their consistency, sure it may be harder because of the condeansed schedule but if you look at other contenders like Toronto, Boston, Tampa etc they beat teams that they should on a regular. And honestly that’s all I was looking for, I knew they weren’t going to go 56-0 but loosing to the scrub California teams could really impact the playoff seeding.

Once again all I am looking for in the Avalanche is consistency not necessarily winning every night just beating the teams we should.

everyteam has poor nights or poor periods, it happens, Bruins just got beat up my the Islanders 7-2 and the Rangers 6-2 in back to back games....are the Bruins no longer a contender bc they got beat up by a lower team in the Rangers?

as a team they are 4th in GF% and 1st in xGF% for the season...the process is there, they just are not getting rewarded right now. Its frustrating but lets not make a mountain over a mole hill.

You were upset about the vegas games which they split the series with them....so does the games they look good and dominate dont count, we just saw them take the coyotes to teh wood shed in back to back games and it wasnt even close,, Its only the bad games that count in terms of evaluating the team?

Pattyrn sucks donkey and Sakic and Bednar agree because they buried his ass in the AHL. The minute you stop playing your best players is the moment you start losing your locker room. And the only guy the Avs should be inquiring about from DET is Bernier.

I've gotta agree with @Claesson4Norris here. There's just not very much incentive for Ottawa in this.

Compher (aged 25; 3x$3.5M) is 0.41 PPG from the 2016-2017 season (his first year) to the 2019-2020 season. This season he's 0.21 PPG. Tierney (aged 26; 2x$3.5M) is 0.47 PPG from the 2016-2017 season to the 2019-2020 season. This season he's 0.38 PPG. Not only is Tierney the better player compared to Compher, he's also not locked into a long deal that's pricey for his current standard of play. By trading Tierney here, Ottawa would be locking themselves into a lesser player for longer at the same price and only getting back a late 3rd in return? It's not a good deal.

They'd probably be more interested in pure futures and would look to be clearing out roster space.

I actually think this extremely fair value, but I think the wings will hold onto djoos, he's looked really good for them and fits in. Lgd for the 3rd would work

I get what you're saying and I'm no happier than you are about how they're playing right now (imagine how they feel) but how many teams just sail through the season then get kicked to the curb in the playoffs (*cough*, 2019 Tampa, *cough*)? Sure, sometimes teams are just dominant from beginning to end but it is more rare these days - the best teams and the worst teams aren't separated by all that much. Sometimes adversity is necessary and can actually make a team better if they can get through it in one piece. Yes, they need to make adjustments; yes, they need their leaders, coaches and players alike, to step up; yes, they need to be a lot more consistent but let's not flip our lids over one bad game (and it was real bad).

And the blues the season before going from a bottom feeder team to cup champs.

Losing a game 19 of the season 6-2 doesn’t make or break the avs season or doesn’t change their cup chances

The Tierney trade I'm in on if they accepted though I think maybe it needs the 2023 2nd or a prospect instead of the third. The DET trade is unnecessary.......and Pateryn? Yeah, let's not totally flip out just yet, eh?
