i doubt the sabres are super interested in that offer. armia is okay nothing special, byron is a cap dump, and poehlings value has slowly declined.

MTL doesn't do this.
1. they don't have the cap.
2. Hall is making 8M a yr and hasnt scored since the 1st game of the season.
3. Poehling is looking really good in Laval this year, has improved a lot I don't think MTL parts with him yet.
4. look at #2 again.

1. In my actual trade proposal, Buffalo retains 25% salary. 6M out, 6M in.
2. Hall is a UFA.. The worst case scenario is.. Byron salary is dumped for next year
3. I do like poehling.. but Hall is worth it!
4. You know some else who has trouble scoring... Drouin! Hall is still an upgrade on 1LW : I love the idea of Hall - Suzuki - Anderson. I am not worried about Hall at all. He is a proven point produder... just a slow start.. Time to grab him while value is low.

Hall doesn't have a ton of value right now... Just last year he was traded for a 1st + middling prospects.. His value certainly hasn't gone up. I think this a very interesting proposal for Buffalo, especially if they manage to re-Sign Armia.

Byron is a cap dump but brings leadership, experience and PK.
Armia is sneaky underrated
The 1st won't be lottery but so will be every other 1st offered up.
Peohling is palying good in AHL right now... Should mesh well with good friend Mittelstadt in the long-run

They aren’t taking on another bad contract.

Well maybe they should... since they still have cap space and they want to re-tool.

Byron contract isn't great but it's not even close to Okposo's or Skinner's.

2 more years at 3.4 is something buffalo can handle quite easily.

Okposo will eventually get bought out...

Skinner... welll... let's hope he turns things around... or is involved in a Kane trade wink

Armia is 27 he has hit his ceiling.
Byron is a cap dump. not useful at all to the sabres
Poehling would be merkley in the njd trade scenario.
1sts would match up. although ide say arizonas first is more valuable.
Where is your bahl, scharr, and next years 3rd in the package?
Arizona did pay for retention. so thats def added costs but thats a 2nd and 2 thirds for a guy they wanted to get rid of? im not sold on buffalo taking this offer.

imo if hall and eichel get traded they dont want current pieces they want high value prospects and high value picks. gotta think one of their recent 1sts is included as well as a first round pick this year.

ide say a package around 2021/22 1st (2022 might be more attractive since its a deeper draft)
One of: caufield/guhle
one of: ylonen, ikonen, tuch, mysak, poehling, olofsson, ikonen.

retention will add more but montreal is filled with prospects and its an inter-division trade which always costs more.

Hall still has 12 in 17. he was traded with 24 in 30 from the devils to the coyotes. Also its buffalo. so you do have to factor in less scoring.

Has anyone in the buffalo fan base tried doing a huge blockbuster with la? Eichel and Dahlin going there with like byfield, turcotte, D and 1sts coming back? Honestly if buffalo ends up with a total overhaul something like that would be a great starting point not ideal, but you can see dahlin being critical of his team already makes me think he’ll go the eichel route and want out. Trading those 2 and hall separately would pretty well setup the franchise to really be competitive in a 3Ish year window. I’m not in la or buffalo, just thinking critically
