Top unit has to have fiala zucc kaprizov and dumba on it, only other option after that is JEE or you have 2 solid units

The problem that Minnesota has is that most key players shoot left.

Key players that shoot right are hard to come by.

I basically threw every player that has scored a powerplay goal this season on the top unit with Dumba.

All the D on the PP play with their partners from 5 on 5.

But I see that Zucc just recently came back from IR and has been somewhat productive on the PP, so maybe putting him on top unit could work out

Zucc was great on our PP, knew when to move the puck fast or slow

There is no fixing it until we get a legitimate number 1 center, or at the very least a good 2C that would be our 1C.

Keep Kaprizov and Zucc together, they have fantastic chemistry. Rask, for as much hate as he has received the past couple years, has actually been really good with Kaprizov and Zucc, so that's your first PP with, say, Spurgeon and Dumba. Brodin has been much better offensively, though, so I can see an argument for him to be with Dumba. Fiala is also a good choice if you want 4 forwards, but if you put him on the first unit then there isn't really a play-driver on the second unit.

I've always felt Fiala and Parise have great chemistry. I guess it's a choose-your-own-adventure at center for the second unit, so throw whoever between Fiala and Parise (probably Ek). Suter shouldn't be on the PP, but he always is. So for the last guy I'd go with a net-front presence like Greenway.

Ever consider bjugstad on the PP?

He's been pretty garbage for us, so no. He has a really hard shot but that's about it. Seems like a great guy so I find myself rooting for him, but that's hard to do when he fumbles passes, makes odd plays, and fires high and wide all the time.

14-15 bjugstad was a force man

He was tried there briefly, and it didn't change anything. In theory, he's exactly what we need, he's just not good enough at this point. We need a big body, right shot center, who can win faceoffs and shoot the puck.

Put the RHS C in the slot, put Kaprizov on the goal line, Fiala on the right wall, Dumba on the left, and Spurgeon at the top. Then you just need to practice and let it work out the issues. The problem is with the condensed schedule, they haven't been practicing. Evason was very quick to try to change little things (like taking Dumba off the PP, for some reason?), before he just gave up on the PP entirely.

But Bjugstad, Bonino, Parise were all tried at the center spot early on. None of them are good enough to contribute. And like I said, Evason wasn't patient enough to let a Fiala/Kaprizov/Dumba unit work out the issues and develop chemistry.

Hartman has been playing center for the past 4 games and looks really good there. I don't think that Rask's shot is good enough to put him on the PP. I completely agree with keeping Suter off the PP.

The second unit is only getting about 30 seconds of the PP, so I like Spurgeon and Ek there as a way to get back on defense quickly.

Evason took Dumba off because he wasn't staying at home. He kept jumping into the play and then we'd lose the puck at the blue line and he wasn't set up for the slapshot. If he's not going to be ready to shoot there's no reason to have him out there.

The Wild gave up on the PP. They are just rolling their normal lines out there and have been for a few games.
