Lets face it, Kase deal was a mistake. Bruins took a chance on him and it has not paid off, so it's time to move on. When Kase is in the lineup, he has proven he is not a top 6 forward. But I think moving Debrusk in the Herlt deal will be enough.
I am not sure how you can say that and then say that you think Debrusk is enough to get Hertl.
Health is certainly a concern for Kase - No doubt, but you said when healthy he isn't a top 6. Interesting because statistically they are almost identical. Kase is cheaper and under team control. They are pretty much the same age as well.
Debrusk played in 13 playoff games and had 4 goals.
Kase played in 11 playoff games and had 4 Assists.
Debrusk has 4pts (1 goal) in his last 16 regular season games.
Kase has 1 pt in 7.5 games with the Bruins.
Kase is also ELITE defensively. JD, not so much.
I get the health thing, and he needs to finish more, but it's there. Thing about stats is they tend to balance out. Yes he is 0 for 26 on SOG since joining the Bruins, but that won't last. He'll go 6/9 over some stretch. He is creating chances. New team, Covid, and injury. I am not willing to call it a mistake. He isn't getting benched. He isn't a empty shirt. He just isn't finishing. Which - JD has 1 goal. One.
If they can get Kase back healthy. It's huge.
