1) Price needs to willingly waive his NMC for Seattle.
2) Seattle needs to commit $10.5M for one player right away. Seems like a lot. They could for sure afford it but it is a lot.

Why ruin your team right away. Unless they think they’re rebuild will take 6+ years. Plus price won’t waive. At this pace we’re doomed for a decade

I honestly don’t think that’s a moveable contract especially to a team like Seattle that will have lots of cheap goaltending options

Price is still a really good goalie tho imo. Just a terrible contract especially in a flat cap

Price and upgrade a first for Seattle, move them into the lottery or shine up a second or something could be interesting, probably waives to get him closer to bc and home possibly

Don't see Killorn waiving to the 33%provincial tax rate of Quebec. Coming from the 0%state tax rate of Florida. That's an almost $1,500,000 pay cut

Seattle's close from home, taxes are 38% in Washington compared to 52% in Quebec and he won't face the same amount of pressure in a different market, those are the three reasons why Seattle could be a way he'd like to explore. Now his contract, after checking the numbers the contract isn't as bad as people might think. In fact after 2021 where he gets a good chunk of money (13 million) following years are "only" costing the team 7.5 million in real money which could be interesting** for an expansion team needing to hit the cap floor.

**Not saying it makes the contract better but certainly adds some positiveness to it.

Sure, but so many teams are going to want to dump cap on Seattle. Teams will have to pay up so Seattle takes on cap. Price is definitely solid, but Seattle might want something back. Seattle could easily take on $10M combined from 2 other teams and pick up draft picks by doing that instead of just taking Price.

After what happened with Vegas I don't see GMs throwing first rounders and good players away this time around tbh. Most GMs taught more about the future when it came to signatures, contracts and no movement close.

Agreed. Teams wouldnt do that.. but in flat cap world, teams desperately want to get rid of cap. Seattle could just easily not select the expensive players and screw these teams over. Teams will pay Seattle to take on guys that they want off their cap.
