Switch Maltsev for Merkley and retain a bit more (Henrique making 3.5), then the Devils accept

Adding henrique's contract will make it more difficult to re-sign huberdeau when his contract is up in 3 years
And IDK if Henrique is even more valuable than Connolly at this point
Not too bad though

Minnnesota isn't the one adding in this swap. Can't really speak for most of the rest of them, but Arizona doesn't touch that either.

Not a chance will Ottawa trade Formenton for Henrique. Henrique would be solid to have for a year or two, but long term Ottawa has the Cs to fill that spot, and Formenton projects to be a very useful part of the Sens future.

That's a better option bc Maltsev is a nice find for us. I like Merk too. Honestly I'd prefer to keep him. If Ana wanted to get a couple picks with some retenetion, sure but Rico has seen better days I think. If we are thinking about moving Palms and Goose bc of their age, why is an older less talented guy incoming? Hurts, but truth

Im keep Palms over Gusev because Palmieri is more likely to stay over Gusev. Rather trade Gusev at the deadline for assets rather than lose him for nothing. Rico would help defensively and faceoffs. Im not the biggest fan of Merkley tbh

Am I the only Devils fan that has no interest in getting Henrique back? They don't need to deal with his contract and keep spots open for the youth in the organization to play their way onto the team. His time has come and gone in NJ.

Drop Jenik out of the Arizona trade and then maybe. Or at least switch for a lesser prospect

I guess I misread or overlooked that message lol. It was crazy to see how many people wanted him back when he was put on waivers when there isn't room for him.

Easy no from Minnesota. Wild aren't taking victor rask from Zuccarello, & kaprizov. The 3 combine have 20 points over 4 games.

I am kind of with you guys. Would like to see him back...but not frivolous-with-cap-space want him back.

If Zajac retires in off-season, perhaps he could be acquired at discounted salary to fill that role.

I'd rather re-sign Zajac for cheap or see what Maltsev/McLeod/Sharangovich can do in the 3C role full time.

I think Hughes -- Hischier -- Sharangovich -- McLeod will be the four centers for next season (if someone can teach Sharangovich how to take faceoffs)
Zacha to wing.
Merkley to Seattle.
Zajac either in retirement or on short-term, hometown deal.

Henrique works if Zajac retires and he is bought out

I have a feeling that Sharangovich will be unprotected and claimed unless there is some trade made that moves Merkley to get someone else picked. I've also liked Maltsev's game more and think he has more to bring to the table as a center so that's why I have him as the next up after a Zajac return for that 3C role.

Would be shocked if Sharangovich is left unprotected.
Hischier, Bratt, Zacha...Sharangovich could be 4th on my list, ahead of Wood, Johnsson, McLeod, Merkley, etc.

I have him around 6th or 7th with McLeod and Kuokkanen since he hasn't shown enough yet to be a lock. I think he can move up the depth chart but probably needs to watch a few nights before that happens.

The size, skill has always been there. But his skating used to be very bad. This year it has been one of his strengths. But I am most impressed with his decision making...calm, intelligent. Plays like a veteran.
