Description
I'm assuming the cap doesn't rise by much.
Before fans freak out, please remember this is 3 years from now, and a lot can change in terms of player projections (poehling, norlinder)

Team looks good. It is always hard to predict two, three down the road when we do not have inside information. With that said I like your roster. My only reproach is Jesse Ylonen. He will 100% be on the roster. I have watched every Laval game this year and he has been extremely impressive. Tonight was probably his worst game and he still got a goal. His vision and hockey IQ is beautiful to watch.

i thought about it. maybe instead of khisamutdinov (mouthful lol), we play ylonen? i wonder if ylonen is used as a trade chip down the road.

Great post. Really got me thinking.

My gut instinct was that your numbers I would have (largely) agreed with pre-COVID (in a more or less best case scenario for the players). As for now though (a world where Toffoli gets 4x$4.25mm), you’ve gotta think they’re at least a bit high, no?

I really don’t think it’s possible to overstate the impact of a flat cap world (to be clear, my assumption is that the cap goes up exactly zero over this time frame).

Are you serious 4.15M to Lekhonen when Toffoli make 4.25M.
He is a fourth line player at 1.5 M max.

I hope they don’t use him in a trade. His passes and vision are up there with Suzuki. On the PP he will be so good.

i agree. my assumption is just based on what these player will turn out to be. like KK is going to be imo a 60-70 point center with a great 2 way game. Suzuki is like point but with a better defensive game, so i signed him long term, while KK gets a bridge. romanov imo will be a top 4 with norlinder, but just due to this being his 3rd season in the nhl, im assuming his performance is upto.

people who complain about lehkonen really have no clue what makes a good hockey player. he's prob one of the better penalty killers in the league and a very resposible player. if he hits the market, he can upto 5mill a year. goals and assists arent the only thing to look at when judging a player
