Kane's value to the Hawks is much higher than Matthews's value to the Leafs. Kane has 30 points in 20 games, 2nd highest on the hawks has 17 points. If anything I think Marner should be in the Hart conversation. He has more points than Matthews and is a +16 compared to Matthews +8 (this stat is very telling because they are on the same line). Matthews is on a heater and scoring goals at an unsustainable shooting %. He has 11 assists. Muzzin, Marner, Tavares and Rielly have equal or more assists. When I watch a Leafs game I don't see him driving play and carrying his team. On the PP he is stationary and doesn't make the passes that get the other team moving. Marner is the key in Toronto imo
You should seriously try watching hockey with your eyes open.
This is top to bottom bad. The shooting percentage is a bit high. But that puts him on pace for over 50 goals. Can he sustain it? Who knows. I wouldn’t be shocked to see him around the 20% mark.
Matthews does it all and he drives the entire team. Trying to look at points and assists to disparage what he does is just plain stupid.
