Ekk isn't better than Strome, he hasn't even put up a 30 point season, yes Ekk is better defensively but Strome is a lot better offensively.

Strome is a 2nd line center for most teams (Most likely a 1st line center for Minnesota), and the fact is Strome has put up a 50 point season and his worst season he put up 40 points, Ekk would be a 3rd line center for most teams, and to say Ekk is better is just selfish. As for Fiala, I think it’d definitely take more than Strome and a 2nd. MIN would rather build around him and Strome, while he’s a solid 2C, is not the same type of building block. I was all for MIN going after him for a more reasonable cost in the off-season, but I don’t think he fits the MO now.

Fiala just isn’t moving. Strome has potential, but needs to flesh out his overall game more.
