They are 5-5-3 when not playing Vancouver. It's gonna take more than that to have a legit playoffs run.

MTL finally has C's, with 2 more in Laval and 2 prospects. So MTL declines. And to be brutally honest I would like to see the Leafs win a cup, something they have not done in over fifty years. 50 years is a very long time. Two entire generations of Leafs fans have cheered for that team their entire life and never seen a Cup champion. That is a very long time, I do not know if I could handle it.

100% agree with this. I also wouldn't be shocked to see them not make it this year, it really more depends on how much further they're out at the deadline if they're gonna sell off.

By all reports, Danault is on the block and it looks like it's due to contract talks stalling. Be a great addition to the Leafs and exactly what they need, plus no quarantine issue to worry about either. I'd go as high as a 1st and a guy like Nick Abruzzese, and probably a roster player to make it work.

He'd be the guy to run a shutdown line with Mikheyev and Hyman against McDavid all series. Even if Toronto makes it outta the North division playoffs, Danault helps a lot.

What kills me is that they are still going to make a push with Julien, even if they are clearly not going far. Another mid first round pick won't help, this team needs top-end talent
