Pretty bad for Nashville. Shooting for the stars when the moon will do. Ekholm/Granlund would be a nice haul and cost less.

So BOS wants Ekholm, AND Forsberg, AND wants the Preds to retain salary, and they still won't include either of the two decent prospects they have? Not that Studnicka or Beecher instead of one of the other pieces here gets it done, but at least try to make it interesting for the team you're trading with.

Debrusk for Bjork and adding Clifton/Zboril for maybe the 2nd makes it a lot more intruiging

Meh. DeBrusk is better than Bjork sure, but he's not a piece I'd really be looking for as a main piece in a deal like this. I'd rather have a late 2nd than Clifton or Zboril , tbh.

Boston has arguably the worst prospect pool in the league, and I wouldn't consider Vaakanainen to be one of their top five. I think he's a "safe" prospect in that there's a fairly strong chance he can be an NHL regular one day, but the upside is pretty low. Can't see him advancing past the 3rd pair.

Guessing you read the athletic?
They are notoriously known for hating the bruins and being **** at talking hokcey
Urho is a top 4 dman with a cap much higher than what you just said (what you said was funny tho)
They are also forgetting about a bunch of other guys like Swayman (who just nearly won the Hobey-Baker) as well as other guys like Lauko and Steen who are excelling despite being lower picks

Sure the Bruins have Swayman and Steen, who I'd value more than Vaakanainen. Hall's coming off a strong season last year, and there's Beecher and Studnicka of course. So that's at least five I'd put ahead of Vaakanainen right there. Is it your contention that this still isn't a weaker prospect pool? Where would you rank them?

The Bruins definitely have one of the weakest prospect pools. They also have one of the best teams and have been such for quite a while. There is probably a natural correlation there. No to the trade and save the assets for the retool/rebuild that has already started.

Oh absolutely that's the correlation. NSH's pool was shallow too, during their recent Cup chasing years. It's only just starting to recover. If you don't want to/feel it's not worth it to you to give up what NSH would deem a fair package, that's fine and I respect your opinion.

I'm curious about your last comment though. "the retool/rebuild that has already started." Isn't BOS still in full-out going for it mode? I would have thought they're more focused on winning now, then starting a retool/rebuild.

Playing 2 rookies on LD (Lauzon, Zboril) with another rookie (Vaakanainen) filling in. That's not full-out going for it. That's the retool/rebuild continuing down from Pastranak, McAvoy, Carlo, DeBrusk and winning now with Rask, Marchand, Bergeron and Krejci still playing at high levels.
