1. Which surprise team has the best chance of making the playoffs, besides Florida?

2. Why has the Tylor Hall experiment gone awry...again? Is he just not as talented as we thought, or is he just not a winner, or both?

3. Best bounce-back player so far: Marc-Andre Fleury, Drew Doughty, or Patric Hornqvist? All are crushing it right now.

4. Will Jack Eichel be playing for the Buffalo Sabres at the start of next season?

5. Best offseason Defenseman acquisition: Tyson Barrie, Devon Toews, T.J. Brodie, Alex Pietrangelo, or Tory Krug? Now and moving forward.

1. Gotta be the Wild. They're 3 games over NHL .500 after crushing the Sharks last night. While they may not have any real star power and their core is a little old, they don't seem to have any glaring weaknesses. Scoring has always been their big flaw, but this could be the best offensive group the Wild have had in years. They're currently 16th at 2.93 GF/GP.

2. Taylor Hall has clearly lost a step or two since his Hart Trophy season in NJ. He's always been totally dependent on speed and he's just not that fast anymore.

3. Fleury is the obvious choice, but I'm gonna go with DD. He's totally reinvigorated this season. He's gotta be in the early conversation for the Norris. That contract doesn't look anywhere near as bad as it did a season ago.

4. No. BUF needs to blow it up ASAP and they probably won't be able to get as big a return mid-season. Eichel could bring multiple 1st rounders and a top prospect. Gotta bite the bullet and rebuild around Cozens and Dahlin, imo.

5. Tyson Barrie. I've watched like every North division game thus far and Barrie has been everything EDM envisioned and then some. Especially after the first 5 games or so. He's back to playing like an elite offensive D and he's proving that last season with the Leafs was an aberration. Crazy how just 10 games ago the Oilers D looked like their weakest link (goaltending was pretty bad, too). Now, their D looks like an asset.
