You're the GM of the Tampa Bay Lightning and Ron Hextall calls you on the phone.

He offers you Malkin.

What is the most you are willing to give Hextall and the Penguins in exchange for Malkin?

i probably wouldnt bother if i was tampa tbh, i know the teams a cup contender at worst and would need to offset a pretty hefty amount of salary. Unless they wanted tyler johnson and to retain half malkins salary then take prospects as compensation ( dont think pit would want to do that) i dont think it makes much sense

Tampa has enough cap issues without adding Malkin and 9.5 million. So your either retaining cash or you're getting Johnson or gourde back at the very least to offset the money. We all think hes a good player but I thinknyoud be surprised at what his actual trade value would be.
