So far off in value. Honestly the only way we get a 1RD is through FA with Hamilton if he gets there. Teams know how valuable 1RDs are and will not be trading them

I'm not optimistic enough to believe that through trade, free agency or drafting, a 1RD is in the Jets short term future. I would settle for 3 reliable 2RDs.

Risto would be nice...big body, right shot who has offence to his game...JoMo can be his reliable defender

Dude it’s tough, 1RDs are so hard to find. Hamilton is our only shot. If he doesn’t come here just grab 2 reliable top 4 guys.

I just worry about cost over replacement. Heinola actually seems comfortable on the right side with Morrissey. Developing him would save the Jets around $8M a year for the next three years vs what it would take to woo Hamilton to Winnipeg.

I know Heinola played RD in the LIIGA and at the WJC. I think he’s playing on the left side for the moose and samberg is playing his off side. There’s also been a lot of talk about that pairing becoming a long term option at the nhl level.

I’m honestly surprised Nashville has him not listed as untouchable. I guess maybe if they wanted to trade him for an expansion draft exempt dman that would make sense, but at that point they might as well just trade ekholm so they can keep fabbro.
