When you consider all of what the Avs would have to give up in order to get one player, it just isn't worth it.

There isn’t a player on the planet the Avs do that, not McDavid not Matthews no one, not unless the salary cap goes away. What those guys are in Byram case already is (a 20+ minute top 4 ) both on ELC’s filling 2 key roles vs putting yourself into instant cap hell? In addition I find it funny that the TS didn’t do contracts beyond this year because adding a $10M contract means good bye to Landeskog and maybe Grubauer after a Makar extension. It’s part of the reason I don’t see a scenario where a TRUE elite 1C with contract term gets moved, because the team moving them will never get true value and the team acquiring can’t really pay it.
