Reality is that Crosby is in his mid 30s and has a full NMC. If he wants to go anywhere its goign ot be somewhere he hand picks. There will not be an arms race bidding war of teams trying to get him. THe place that Crosby wants to finish his career in will be the one he wants and Pens will have to do the best they can to accomodate his request bc no team is going to destory their roster and prospect pipeline that are used to be cup contenders to make crosby work and relaunch the pens into a rebuild. It will be 1 step foward 2 steps back

I'm just sayin that you'd have a better chance at a cup. Also the avalanche aren't going into a rebuild any time soon, so stocking up on prospects wont help them if they already have depth and nhl caliber players playing. If Crosby were to be traded here though (most likely not gonna happen) then the pens would want a guy like byram back because he is young and the pens are going into a rebuild soon. But yes, Byram is untouchable by fans perspective. But if he was to be traded here I would hope that the pens would be able to get a return like this.
