I dont think the Leafs have what MIN would be looking for. It would probably have to be a C going the other way and Kerfoot isnt going to cut it. I doubt Greenway is even available though

For reference, Kunin fetched Bonino, 2nd, and 3rd as an expansion move. At minimum you’d be looking at a similar deal but likely with a 1st as part of it or possibly something by way of Sandin. All that said, I don’t think TOR wants to give that up and MIN doesn’t want to move Greener as he’s becoming the player we want him to be.

If the ask is a gritty bottom 6 guy, a 2nd would probably get Hartman.

Neither is likely available.

Guerin loves Foligno, which is why he signed him to a three year extension despite the expansion draft complications it creates. His remarks after he signed him was that he didn't sign him in order to lose him.

The only thing I want off the Leafs is Nylander whom Guerin has shown an interest in, in the past. I do think Guerin would be willing to move Greenway if it was as part of a package for Nylander. What that would be, I couldn't tell you.

This may seem rediculous but 2022 1st and Engvall might do it. Assuming Engvall has played enough games to be expansion eligible but Dubas would have to act soon Greenways value has been going up all season.

I’m going to confirm that it is ridiculous. If somehow this was done knowing we’d lose him to Seattle then sure, but I’m relatively convinced he’ll be in a Wild sweater next year.

You think too low? I chose the 2022 1st because it is a deeper draft than the 2021 and leafs will likely be in the back end of the first for the next 5 years. Engvall because the Wild have to have someone to expose.

I just think that Greenway has a role that could be incredibly valuable when it’s time to contend. He’s a more skilled Foligno, and that is one of those things you just don’t want to move. I think a 1st is more than fair, but I think he’s more valuable on the team than that draft pick will be.

I'm also considering the Wild will need a spot for Boldy very soon. I agree about the Greenway skillset. I guess we shall see how Guerin navigates this. I'm sure ideally Greenway is part of a package for a center.

Marcus foligno isn't available. He's actually untouchable for the Minnesota Wild. He was resigned to 3-4 years extension in January

I think that’s galaxy braining it. Parise will be a 4th liner within 2 years or on the IR and a Zuccarello buyout would serve the same purpose of opening a top 6 spot.

As fun as it is to dream, I don’t think the Wild will be moving to trade for a big time C.

Foligno isn't untouchable, so stop with that nonsense. If Toronto was offering Nylander and Foligno was part of the package Dubas wanted back, Foligno would be gone.

Nope he's not available. Greenway was one of the younger players Wild GM essentially made untouchable along with Joel Erickson ek. Greenway was given a 2 years contract extension, & Currently lead wild in points. After Foligno signing, Guerin made a point to say not only does he's not planning to lose foligno, but he's not planning to lose Greenway either. His comments, & then recent speculation by the Wild reporter Russo that Apparently Zuccarello could waive makes me think there's been some back channel communications with agents, & Maybe Seattle Leaders

Did you not understand that wild just signed Foligno to 3 years extension? Please do tell any GM that signed a player to extension to trade them.

Wikd GM loves Foligno. he's made it clear Foligno isn't going anywhere, & signed him to 3 years extension. So yeah, that means he's untouchable. No GM signs player to extension just to trade them all you have to do is simple research. Wild aren't going to ruin a relationship with agents, & being looked at bad for trading a player they signed to extension.

It's the dream but not looking like reality. The Zuccarello buyout seems unlikely. The time I heard Guerin talk about buyouts it sounds like he is very adverse to the idea. With the NHL bleeding money it feels even more unlikely.

Right. And one silver lining at the moment is that Rossi, Boldy, and Beckman will all be on ELCs while Zuccarello is still here.

Jack Campbell extended by the Kings on September 7th, 2019 and traded to the Leafs on February 5th, 2020. His extension kicked in July 1st, 2020. It happens if the return is worth it to a GM. I promise you Wildnochance, Guerin would trade anyone on the roster he could if he felt the deal made the Wild better. Anyone.

I’m gonna lower the temp here. Your logic is solid and I would bet that Foligno is comfortable with whatever happens. He has the same agency as Fiala, Dumba, and Zuccarello so I would assume they all know the expansion plan.

To @JayTea point. If the deal for a 30 goal scorer that can play up the middle on a reasonable deal includes Foligno, then there is all reason to assume that he would be part of the package. All of that said, I highly doubt Foligno is going anywhere.

Sp he would trade Jared Spurgeon who has a 7 year no movement contract, with the highest AAv in Minnesota wild history?

He would trade Jonas Brodin, who signed a 6 years no movement contract?

He would trade Fiala, or especially Kaprizov?

Your logic is just false reasoning.

If it brought back a franchise center, yes, in a heartbeat.

There is no such thing as being untouchable. There is only varying degrees of unwillingness to part with core pieces of the puzzle unless you're bringing back something that would be an even bigger cornerstone of the franchise.

They just happen to be grouped up into tiers of most important to least important.

Fiala, Kaprizov, Rossi, Brodin and Spurgeon are the uppermost tier, and are considered franchise cornerstones. Typically unmoveable unless it's except for a franchise center.

Eriksson-Ek, Dumba, Foligno, Greenway, Boldy and Addison comprise the secondary tier. They're typically only moved for high-end assets or players that would go into that franchise cornerstone category.

Anyone not in those two tiers is considered expendable and would be moved at a whim if the price was right.

Yes wildnochance, if a team with a franchise 1C wanted to make a deal and those players with NMCs were fine with going back the other way. Guerin absolutely would consider dealing any of those players if the deal as a whole made sense. He has been completely clear that he will make any deal that makes sense to make the team better. No one is untouchable.

He also made it clear certain players aren't going anywhere. He didn't sign Jared Spurgeon to 7 years, highest AAV in Minnesota wild history, & made him Captain to move him.

He's also not moving Jonas Brodin, A stud D, one of the best shutdown d to 6 years no movement, & in his 20's still to move him. It's just a reality you have to acknowledge, Don't understand why you are believing this , or trying to contradict. It's just blatantly false. Teams wanted Brodin, & spurgeon, yet he didn't move them

You are also wrong about Kaprizov being moved. That is factually incorrect
