Lol people wonder why everyone thinks Leafs fans are absolute jokes.

Trying to get the most hyped 1oa pick since McDavid for Rasmus freaking Sandin.

Absolutely embarrassing.

Rangers GM would get fired for doing that, they shouldn’t have gotten Laf to begin with. Trading him would be stupid.

I'm thinking more along the lines of

Campbell, Sandin, Egnvall and Vesey for Laf, Kakko, Fox and Shesty. NYR might need to add a 1st as well but let's see how that trade blows over before the +

Chicago doesn't really have a centre behind Strome right now cuz of injuries to Dach and Toews but if you were to give them Kerfoot they may take it

Will be lucky if he is a passable third pairing D after the Leafs' are done "developing" him.

They’re not really wrong, you could argue Matthews but I’d say Lafreniere was the most highly regarded guy leading up to draft since mcdavid

Matthews was more hyped.
Dahlin was more hyped.
Hughes was more hyped.

Definitely not Lafrienere as the most hyped prospect.

Who would you say was more hyped? MAYBE Matthews, Hughes had early hype but it died down. I don't think Dahlin was the same level.

I think anyone expecting a winger to be a superstar on the level of McDavid is kidding themselves, and predraft hype doesn't equal NHL success. But Laf had a LOT of hype.

Non scientifically, the hyped guys from my memory:

Jumbo Joe, then Sid, then Tavares, then McDavid

Laf isn't at the level of any of the above, but I do think he may have had the most hype since McDavid.

TBH I feel a 1st for Strome is fair, maybe I’d add a 2nd for retention. He’s not exactly lighting it up offensively but has solid play driving numbers and is familiar with Marner.

This guy is odd. He will do this but has a wealth of posts trading Marner for 3rd liners. It's weird

Leafs fan here. Sandin is an elite/top prospect, but not blue chip/franchise piece. There are so many words/ways to put it. But simply put, Sandin is a very good prospect, like top 2 in most organizations, but most organizations have a guy like him.

Laf is a potential generational/franchise player, there are a couple of these guys in the league. The vast, vast majority of organizations do NOT have guys like him. There is a very real argument to be made that he is the best prospect in hockey at this moment.

That trade is silly.

I figured Sandin alone may not have been enough, even though Lafreniere is struggling production wise. What about Abramov + Sandin + 1st?

he's .75 ppg over his enitre time in chicago and he's only 23 years old. Hawks aern't selling low just because he's had a cold streak the last 8 games. Realisticlly we aern't trading him at all, but if we did it would take more than this

TBH I think the Rangers made a mistake picking Lafreniere. They already have 2 LWs locked up in the top 6, they need a 1C. Should’ve picked Byfield!

I believe that Lafreniere scored at a higher rate than MacKinnon & Hall in his final season in junior on a worse team. That’s why he got all the hype, but the NHL is a totally different level & he’s not going to produce anything playing on a line with Howden & Di Gieuseppe!

MacKinnon is a centre and there is no comparing c to w. Taylor Hall played in the OHL
