You’re a really generous grader.

Does the trade make the bruins better? No? Then absolutely not.

Your saying that adding a young Center doesn’t make them team better?

Uh, ya. That’s exactly what I’m saying.

First off, gaudette wouldn’t crack the roster. Bruins are set at center, and studnicka is the next guy in line. I’ve seen Gaudette play an awful lot. Awesome in hockey east. Brutal in the NHL. I struggle to see where virtanen fits in as well. I don’t think the bruins would have any interest in him.

But cmon, you know this. That’s why you threw in that third round pick.

Let’s set aside the value for a second. Subtracting debrusk to add to inferior pieces that might not even play in boston without any doubt makes boston worse. There is no argument to the contrary.

The value on the other hand, is absolutely atrocious. You took three assets that you don’t give a crap about, and are trying to package them to get a young top six winger under team control for a while.

Want bjork, pavel shen, and a 2nd for bjork? Didn’t think so.

No, I would say a flat F would be something like Wagner for Kucherov.

Whose he overthrowing at center?

Bergeron
Krejci
Coyle
Kuraly

Then you have guys like Studnicka (top prospects) and Frederic who play center as their natural position as well. Two of our top prospects are forced to play the wing because of the center depth right now.

Bergeron and Krejci are winding down their careers and sure they have studnicka and Frederic but that’s 2 Centers and you need 4, Gaudette gives them depth at C, they could play him in the wing of either of their own prospects and while his faceoff number haven’t progressed they haven’t diminished which to me mean he just needs the right mentor and Bergeron would be that.

You can’t just look at things as they are now you have to look forward especially since Gaudette is 24

I think the thoughts, but at the end of the day Jake V is a hope and a prayer that a change of scenery can get him close to what he was expected to be at draft position. Gaudette sadly struggles to be consistent - its like he has the tools to play, but just cant patch it together night and night out. If they make a move for Virtanen on depth it won't be at the cost of DeBrusk unless there are more pieces added to the total deal to find the ideal fit for both teams.

Players that can play Centre for the bruins
Bergeron
Krecji
Coyle
Kuraly
C. Smith
Frederic
Studnicka
Chris Wagner

So if they bring a C in they need to be equally as strong on the wing or perhaps even better on the wing.

Gaudette's issue has been dietary, he wasn't digesting food properly and as a result his energy levels weren't that great. thankfully medical staff has worked with doctors to solve the issues.

Still doesnt address if he can put it together at a more consistent level nor does it address the fact he would be in providence right now
