You're losing a top tier player for Gibson, if ANA would ever be dumb enough to do that trade. And they wouldn't throw in one of their top six forwards on top of it!

Put yourself in Anaheim’s shoes. Their best player. Top three goalie in the league. A+ contract for a long long time. Does a 1st and two 2nds have more value than Gibson? No way.

Ding ding ding! I mean, I could see something in a couple of years if Dostal continues to develop (Or Dostal packaged to bring in someone), but yeah, there's literally zero reason for them to make a Gibson trade.

So many fan bases on here are acting like Anaheim is 85 years away from being any good, and should essentially just be their farm team, instead of looking at their own team that are in f*cking brutal shape already.

I can safely say without fear of contradiction that you will look back upon this post and realize it's the worst evaluation you've ever made -- like the time I said Henrik Borgstrom was as good a prospect as Dylan Cozens (right after his draft).

We have a better potential #3C than Kerfoot.

We have much better prospects at their positions than Hallander and Legare.

We wouldn't trade Terry even up for any one of those players.

The problem all these awful trades from Penguins fans have is that we won't be trading Gibson to address one deficiency, because trading him away just opens up a gaping hole at goalie. So what ever you think the trade value of goalies is in general, or Gibson's trade value is in particular, you all should understand that we're not trading our best player unless the deal substantially addresses our needs for more offense, lack of talent at RW and lack of depth at RD.

Honestly it's an overpay.
Name me one goalie to ever go for so much.
ANA fans clutch onto Gibson. But that ain't his value. 1st and a decent prospect. That's all it takes.
