a 3rd plus a B- propect should do it IMO for byron. maybe a shut sown 3rd parind D in KULAK may be added?
Certainly a possibility. Would be more inclined to look for a forward though.
A Kulak move would be determined by what else is done on the back end. Love him as a 3rd pairing option. Expansion draft still looks very deep in the back end.
Honesty see TampaBay convincing Francis to take Johnson with a 2&4 and Boris Katchouk or Taylor Raddysh
There numerous possibilities for TBay.
Given the lack.of depth at forward, Johson's contract is rich but he could plug in as a 2nd line centre role. Acquiring addtional assets on top of that is something Francis must do.

Down the line, eat half the cap hit and flip him.
Gives Francis a lot.of optiond👍
He sells a lot of Johnson 9 jerseys too local kid comes home to help build the team potentially as a 2x Stanley Cup Champion
Losing Chariog or Allen I think sets the Habs back.
But my opinion is just that. An opinion
Losing Allen doesn’t set us back, since we have Primeau waiting in the wings. Chiarot can be easily replaced by Romanov in the top 4, and Romanov can be replaced by Fleury on the 3rd pair. Byron is still a part of the team, and it wouldn’t be worth it to pay to get rid of him when he’s still useful. Vegas showed that it doesn’t usually work out well when you try to make a trade with an expansion team, and we’re better off letting Seattle take who they take amd filling the role internally.

Could be right. Every team, with the exception of a few, will have tough decisions to make and will loose an effective player in their own right.
What I noticed when doing protection lists (and mine may differ from others), is there is significant blueline depth available..... to the point that not sure Chariot would be on the radar. Byron, given what he does and what he is, just maybe the selection outright. Leadership on the ice will be needed.
The goaltending depth, depending on what Francis does, Allen doesn't go either.

Mine is just one take.
I’d expect Allen to be taken, since IMO he’s the best goalie available, and has the best contract, but Seattle could see it differently.
And if Seattle did end up picking Byron that would suck, but we can get over it. Montreal just isn’t trading anything away to make sure that they pick him.
