also dont think Wahlstrom fits with nelson very well. Barzal or pageau would suit his game a little more I feel

Leddy has exceeded my expectations (which isn’t saying much) , but I can understand the argument that he hasn’t been good. He has a low hockey IQ and he makes bad decisions at the worst times - but at least he provides some value. Greene just flat out sucks. He can’t move the puck, he’s slow, and for some reason he doesn’t look dialed in mentally - he’s slow to read and react in the Dzone.

Wahlstrom can play with any skilled players IMO - he’s better off with a playmaker like barzal, but unlike bellows Wahlstrom has shown the ability to generate on his own.

That is a good thought to be honest, Wahlstrom generating his own offense may get Nelson going. Its odd how even with Eberle down there and scoring he still didn't really get involved. Maybe he's just checked out mentally, wouldn't be the only one

Yeah it could be a confidence issue, he hasn’t dealt with much adversity since trotz became HC.

He’ll be 23 in October , hopefully that’s old enough for Lou/trotz...salo is pretty much a slower version of toews, not calling Salo slow but obviously toews is an elite skater. They play a similar style and both have high end hockey IQ - god knows this team could use another D with above avg hockey IQ.

lol the Aho situation is so weird, the way his contract is constructed would lead you to believe that he's in their plans but trotz never speaks about him and refuses to get him In a game to spell greene. He'll probably end up playing due to an injury to one of the regulars but he will get the dobson treatment of last year.

I'm excited about Salo because he improved his stock out of nowhere and seems on track to be a solid 2nd pairing D. That usually doesn't happen with isles prospects. He's a #1 D in the 3rd best league in the world and leads all u23 D in points (also has great underlying #s) He's also 6'0 which bodes well for his isles future
