Not all of us are but casual fans seem to forget that losing streaks happen over the course of the season and we were playing so well at the beginning of the season that when the first bump in the road happens they begin to panic that we are becoming that mediocre team that was stuck in 15th ish place every year for the last 3 years neither trending up or down just mired in the middle.

That's better than casual Leafs fans criticizing and insisting the team needs to make trades, despite the fact that we keep rolling even though we've had several injuries! SPORTS!

Honestly, both teams have their strengths and weaknesses. We have no top end talent and the Leafs depth is questionable. During the season the Leafs may have the edge but I think our depth makes us better suited for the long grind of the playoffs.

Toronto and Montreal have 8 games left against each other this season. Relax. Toronto's not gonna win every game. & regular season means nothing. Wait till playoffs to start complaining about wins and loses when it actually matters.

That's not the case this year. Their depth is greatly improved and arguably better than Montreal's.

Case and point: last game Toronto got 3 goals to win the game from "depth players". A 3rd pairing d-man (Dermott), a third line/fourth line winger who can't shoot great at all (Mikheyev), and a #4 d-man that's been overshadowed by 3 far superior d-man (Holl). All when the top lines didn't score.

To say their depth is questionable is ignorant.

One game where the opposition played badly does not make the Leafs depth better. BTW 12 goals and 36 points in 14 games is nothing to write home about. Compare that to the Habs 18 goals and 43 points 13 games. I would take the Habs depth every time.

Leafs depth has been good all year. It's not all about points. Their depth players have come in and played exceptionally well, provided energy, and not hurt the teams defence whatsoever. They might have the best 4th line in hockey with the way they're able to rotate guys in. Add all that to the fact that it gives their top guys more rest and more open space because of drawing penalties (& one of the leagues best PP), & the Leafs depth is nothing to sleep on. Chirp them all you want, but they've proven to be good.

You are obviously looking through Leaf coloured glasses to have made that statement. The best 4th line in Hockey is a huge stretch considering Montreal's 4th line is basically a 3rd line on at least half the teams in the league. Plus if the Leafs 4th line was so good why do they NEED to rotate guys in? If they were that good they wouldn't rotate anyone in unless an injury dictated they had to, which is exactly the situation Montreal is in. If you look at the teams lines in terms of 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th lines Toronto has 2 1st lines a 3rd and a 4th line, Montreal on the other hand has 3 2nd lines and a 3rd line. The top of the Toronto lineup is undoubtedly better than the top of Montreal's but it is the bottom of our lineup is better than the Leafs. I said the Leafs depth is questionable in a deep playoff run. You used the fact that Toronto scored 3 goals from depth players in 1 game against the Habs to argue that the Leafs depth was better. Then like a true hypocrite you reversed direction and said it's not all about points which is true but you also then have to consider that Byron, Armia, Lehkonen and Evans are among some of the best defensive forwards in the game. Montreal's 3rd and 4th line are undoubtedly better than Toronto's you can say they aren't all you want but the Leafs like I said have 2 1st lines a 3rd and a 4th line.

Lol. Yes I clearly have the team bias glasses on. Did you read your comment before you posted it? Pure bias. But as I said, see you in playoffs (if you're goaltending can even get you there).

Unfortunately for you the Leafs will have to make it past the first round and likely their nemesis PLD to face the Habs LMAO good luck with that!!!

It’s not bias, dude. He just focused on the Habs situation, and all of it is justified.

I’d say see you in the playoffs too, but when we would have played each other in the second round, the fourth seed would have beaten you and we’d be playing them.
