Even with how this season has gone I still wouldn't have signed Markstrom or Tanev

Letting Markstrom and Stecher walk was a total joke........now sitting Virtanen makes absolutely no sense even if you are trying to trade him........time for Benning and Green to go.

but than again hes not signed so they may move on from him

As an outsider, but someone who's familiar with your team because we're in the same division (until this season), I am quite surprised at how badly your results are. I haven't seen the team play too often, but 6 and 11 is not the record I foresaw at the beginning of the year. I thought you guys would build on your finish last year and be second or third in the Canadian division. The reason for the poor outcomes didn't dawn on me until I saw this very post: that's four significant players you lost, and the two replacements haven't made any impression yet. Something needs to happen, and soon.

It feels like the Canucks gave up on their 'Fluery' a.k.a. Marky for their 'Murray' a.k.a. Demko and we can see how that went. Hi, Ottawa...how ya doing?

Not really though, since if the Canucks had given Markstrom what he wanted, they’d lose Demko to Seattle. If anything, not signing Markstrom was the best move Benning made this offseason.

It's $400,000 cheaper to send him to utica this year, yes. But next year his buyout penalty is 3.3 rather than 4.9 in utica.

I hear ya but the ultimate goal is the have an elite goalie to help this team win. We don't know if Demko will ever be as good as Marky is now. We've seen glimpses but no consistency. It doesn't help that the D is a siv rn.

Benning needs to go. He's done an unreal job scouting and drafting but the bad contracts and poor asset management have hurt this team. Thanks for Brock, Petey, Huggy and Hoglander but it's time to go... Or maybe we just demote him to director of scouting.

I like Greener, it's unfortunate his contract is up this year. There were too many changes to his D in the O season and they only had a week long training camp and only 5 practices since then to work things out. The team got worse and he hasn't had time to adjust the way they play.
