Montreal Should Play SH All Game

Équipe: 2020-21 Canadiens de Montréal
Date de création initiale: 10 févr. 2021
Publié: 10 févr. 2021
Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
Basically, Montreal has scored 7 short-handed goals in 83 Minutes on the penalty kill, which if translated to a full games length would mean 5 goals a game.

On even strength, when translated, the Detroit Red Wings have scored just 1.85 goals per game.

Hypothetically, even though Montreal would let in more goals on average, they would be able to outscore the Detroit Red Wings in an entire game of 5 on 4.

The ideology behind it doesn't make much sense and I'm missing a bit of info but it's a fun idea. Here are my short handed all game lines:

It is kind of incredible though that the Canadiens have over 3 times as many shorthanded goals than any other team in the NHL.

Maybe the Habs should try it....Play short handed all game, and score their 5 goals. Leafs and their PP...they score 5 goals. Heck of an exciting game. Then it goes to overtime, no one scores.
Zack Bogosian the 18th Leaf shooter, scores the only goal in the shoot out.

Well when you break down a power play that isn't playing well 95% of the time it is the team with the advantage isn't taking advantage of the the extra man by playing just as hard as the team that is shorthanded. Then look at the amount of players that get time on the PK compared to the amount of players that get time on the PP. That is basically hockey 101.

Also when you have a team playing well like Montreal it is much easier to play hard every single shift.

It would probably be as excited as the last game of 2018-19 season between Montreal & Toronto.

One more thing I wanted to add. If you play Detroit take all the penalties you want currently they are 4 for 42.
